Become a DAAD Young Ambassador

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a publicly-funded independent organization of higher education institutions in Germany. Each year DAAD provides information and financial support to over 67,000 highly-qualified students and faculty for international research and study.

The DAAD’s primary goal is to facilitate transatlantic mobility to Germany for US and Canadian scholars; therefore Germany must be a component of the intended academic travel.  Funding is awarded on a competitive basis. The DAAD considers the academic merit of the individual, the feasibility and quality of the proposal, and the impact of the applicant and application as a whole.

A very interesting opportunity for American undergraduate students who have recently studied in Germany and are interested in promoting study in Germany at their home universities and colleges is to become a DAAD Young Ambassador. They work at their universities study abroad offices, volunteer at study abroad fairs, answering questions from students and organizing their own events on campus.
