Meet the group at the German American Heritage Museum
Using US Census and Naturalization records, ships’ passenger lists, historic photographs, city directories and other sources, this walking tour will examine in some detail the lives and contributions of several distinguished German-Americans who lived or worked in the Old Downtown around H Street between 5th and 8th Streets, NW.
Led by Alice Stewart, local historian and tour guide, the tour will end at the Goethe-Institut. Visitors are invited to tour the German-American Heritage Museum on their own before the walking tour begins.
Meet at the German-American Heritage Museum (719 6th St. NW) , Friday, April 29, 6.30 to 8 PM
