Audi drove Tony Stark aka “Iron Man 2” to much box-office action. Decked out in their Mercedes Benz and so much more, of course, Miranda, Samantha, Carrie and Charlotte had to contend with a number three opening weekend. Coming in at $51 million for the five-day Memorial Day total, the “Sex and the City” girls nonetheless got to enjoy the ride in their luxuriously stylish German cars. The four friends “remain true to their exclusive lifestyle,” the automaker opined from its Montvale, New Jersey headquarters.

“Based on the success of the first movie and its ability to attract trendsetters and style-makers, “Sex and the City 2” is a natural fit for Mercedes-Benz,” added Steve Cannon, vice president of marketing, Mercedes-Benz USA.  “The movie provides a great stage for us; it showcases our new eco-friendly flagship S-Class [S400 Hybrid], ruggedly sophisticated G-Class [SUV] and ultra luxury Maybach line in their natural elements. It also perfectly positions the new E-Class Convertible.” Just in time for the June launch in Mercedes-Benz showrooms across the country, the 2011 E-Class Cabriolet made its acting debut when Carrie and Mr. Big then jaunt off for the weekend wedding in Connecticut. According to the automaker, this “chic, elegant, and versatile four seat, three-layer soft top convertible … can go up or down in 20 seconds at speeds up to 25 miles per hour.”

The “Sex and the City 2” micro site includes a virtual tour of the new E-Class Cabriolet as fans journey through New York’s nightlife. Each of the menu items features a specific street which also plays a part in the film. Navigation is via signposts.
