Mit neun Nominierungen in der Kategorie Best Picture konnte Hollywood aufatmen. Nachdem es auch der Aussenseiter “Tree of Life”, noch dazu mit den weiteren Topkategorien Regisseur und Kamera, und Spätzünder “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” in das Rennen um die 84.
